About the shelter

There are no state programs for humane reduction of stray animals in Belarus. Only catching. Most of the animals that are caught die - they are either euthanized or they become infected and die of diseases. In 99% of cases they are young and (relatively) healthy animals. We try to give them a chance to live. 
 How the shelter works:

 ∙ The cats live in groups of 15-20 in 4 rooms equipped with beds, houses, scratching posts, climbing areas, litter trays and food bowls. Sick, debilitated and operated animals are kept in cages (and only temporarily!).

 ∙ Volunteers do all the work at the shelter for free. Every day they take care of the cats and keep the shelter in order. Even on holidays and weekends.

The shelter exists solely on donations. ∙ The shelter's expenses include rent (+ utilities), food and litter, veterinary care, medicine, vaccines, flea and worm treatments.
