About the shelter

Dog Shelter in Almaty The shelter currently houses about 600 dogs and provides them with care and attention. The owner of the shelter, Irina Mikhailova, together with volunteers and staff, runs the shelter on her own without any support from the government. The shelter exists solely on donations from kind people who are not indifferent to the fate of homeless animals. The shelter faces daily high expenses for food, medicine, hay, puppies and other needs, which makes it dependent on constant financial support. Irina Mikhailova is also actively involved in finding new homes for the dogs, thoroughly checking the conditions with potential owners and keeping in touch with the new owners after the animals have been adopted. The shelter actively shares its life and needs via Instagram, where you can find out about current needs and how you can help. Every contribution, whether financial or volunteer, helps the shelter continue its important mission of providing safety and care for homeless dogs.
