About the shelter

The Public Foundation "New Chance" is a charitable organization whose main goal is to help animals living on the streets. The foundation started its activities in 2013 and opened its first shelter not far from Almaty, in the village of Boraldai. An initiative group of several concerned people rescued stray animals from the streets of Almaty and its suburbs. During the short period of its existence, the Fund has held a number of charity events, such as "Stars for Stray Animals", and also organized a press conference on "The Problem of Stray Animals in Kazakhstan.

In August 2013, "New Chance" was officially registered as a public foundation, and in November the volunteers celebrated a big holiday - the official opening of the shelter in Burunday.

Today the shelter has moved to a new location, where the construction of new enclosures is in full swing. As of today, the active work of volunteers and employees of the foundation allows to keep about 100 dogs.
Thanks to the "New Chance" concept, for the first time we were able to apply a long-term approach to the protection of stray animals. Rescue of stray animals from the streets of Almaty and its suburbs, their placement in the shelter, regular medical examination, socialization and placement in families - this is the main work of our organization.

The Foundation has big plans: to work with the Shelter, which saves many little lives every day, and of course to carry out socially important projects aimed at changing the consciousness of society as a whole, in which - we are sure! - will definitely help us. Together we can do a lot. We can even change the world for the better.
