Live Life Dog Shelter is a private animal rescue located near Chișinău, the capital of Moldova. Founded in 2014 by dedicated animal rights volunteer Natalia Ghetmanet, the shelter has grown into one of the most impactful independent shelters in the region. Today, shelter cares for around 350 dogs and 50 cats, many of whom are sick, disabled, or were cruelly abandoned by their previous owners. The shelter began as a grassroots initiative focused on humane rescue and sterilization of stray animals. Over time, it evolved into a full-scale shelter—one that not only saves lives but also works tirelessly to find loving homes for its residents, including international adoptions beyond Moldova’s borders. To date, Live Life has successfully rescued and rehomed over 1,000 animals, offering them a second chance at life. Live Life Dog Shelter receives no government funding and operates entirely on donations and volunteer support. Despite limited resources, the team continues to rescue animals from municipal shelter, provide medical care, sterilization, and rehabilitation, and prepare each animal for adoption. Many of their dogs and cats are survivors of abuse, car accidents, or neglect—and some have special needs due to physical disabilities. Thanks to their active presence on Facebook, Instagram (@priyut_live_md), and TikTok (@jivi_live_love), shelter has built a strong community of supporters who help raise awareness and provide assistance. Every donation, every shared post, and every adoption plays a vital role in keeping this mission alive. Live Life Dog Shelter stands as a symbol of hope and compassion—showing how the dedication of just a few people can save hundreds of lives and inspire change.
