About the shelter

The cat shelter “New Home” exists in St. Petersburg for more than 6 years. The shelter houses abandoned cats, cats and kittens, who have found themselves on the street and are simply not needed by anyone. More than 100 animals with different fate and age live in the shelter. Most of the animals were given by kind people or former owners. Each cat has its own character - someone affectionate, someone fearful, playful or shy, sad, willful or cheerful. The shelter receives both ordinary striped and pedigree Scottish cats, each cat is beautiful in its own way. Our team of volunteers tries to do their best to make all the pets feel cozy and at least a small part of home in the walls of the shelter. However, we cannot replace their home and caring owners to the fullest extent. Unfortunately, many people are afraid to take an animal from the shelter, thinking that everyone here is sick or something worse than others, but in fact all the problems are not in cats, but in people who treated them badly before the shelter. You can save at least one cat's life, give a living creature a warm home, love and affection! As long as they live in the shelter, we are their only hope! All the cats that live in the shelter, found themselves on the street not by their own will. No one can help them except you and me. If they could speak, they would surely say that they also want to live in warmth and care.

We have adopted out 3,580 cats and kittens since we started!

All cats entering the shelter, regardless of whether they were found on the street or given away by their former owners, are quarantined in a separate comfortable enclosure. The quarantine lasts about 2 weeks. Afterwards, the animals are moved to live in one of the common rooms with other cats. 1. The shelter is staffed by volunteers with veterinary training. 2. We vaccinate and sterilize all animals in the shelter. 3. The shelter provides regular parasite treatments. 4. We treat critically ill cats, perform complex surgeries with the best doctors in St. Petersburg. 5. All cats are fed with premium-class food. 6. We are always in touch with new owners of animals.
