Home for animals “Bubasti” - is a private shelter for dogs and cats in Pushkinsky District. It emerged as a base location for an animal protection project in 2014. There is no government support, the shelter is private and is kept on the owner's funds and donations. The shelter's philosophy is based on the principle of ensuring the quality of life of an animal “here and now” and its preparation for adoption into a family. The purpose of the shelter is to socialize people with animals (in other words, pet therapy). In addition, the shelter was also created to raise awareness of the problem of homeless animals. The idea of animal interaction and canister therapy in orphanages, nursing homes and hospices is a priority. Socialized animals can become faithful helpers for lonely people, as well as help those people who are apathetic, depressed or withdrawn. The first visitors of the shelter from among people with disabilities were children suffering from autism. As practice has shown, the opportunity for children to interact with cats became the basis for the child's discovery of communication and complete distraction from negative thoughts and isolation. At the moment there are about 200 dogs and more than 80 cats living in the shelter. The shelter is in urgent need of volunteers who are ready to help both inside the shelter and on trips to events. Help is both in socializing the animals and helping with shelter ideas as well as beautification in general. Come to visit, walk and socialize with the animals, rest your soul and charge with positive energy. It is in the shelter that you will be able to move to a new, active way of life and find new friends.
