About the shelter

Autonomous Non-profit Organization “Center for Assistance to Homeless Animals ‘Beriginya’ is a volunteer movement in the city of Naro-Fominsk, formed in 2013. The Center began its activities with informational work with the population to attract and provide assistance to homeless animals (temporary stays, payment for treatment, transportation), as well as increasing loyalty to homeless animals. Today “Beriginya” not only carries out informational work with the population, but also is the largest shelter in Naro-Fominsk; hundreds of four-legged friends, born on the street or turned out there, find a temporary home here. Our mission is to help animals in need. We created the Center to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for the Center's wards, as well as to implement the tasks we have set for ourselves. Our tasks: ∙ Construction and arrangement of the new Stray Animal Care Center; ∙ Informational work with the population to increase loyal and responsible attitude towards animals in the society; ∙ Assisting guardians of homeless animals; ∙ Creating a database of lost and found animals ∙ Treating animals and finding new homes for them Our volunteers, in most cases, treat injured and sick animals themselves, socialize them, vaccinate, sterilize and place them in new homes. Veterinarians, kinologists, psychologists and just good and caring people work in “Berigin” on a voluntary basis. We invite children and adults to communicate with our little brothers within the walls of the animal center!
