About the shelter

Happy Tails Brasov was founded on 15.01.2013 by me - Andra Maria Lavric - with the help of my family! I gave up my previous life to dedicate it to animals in need with forward-looking animal welfare!

● Animal rescue in Romania ● Animal shelter with free run / pack keeping ● "Happy Burg" sanctuary ● Certified wild animal rescue center ● Year-round castration campaigns ● "Bringing people closer to animals" projects

It was a difficult and often rocky road to get there! You can build something beautiful from the stones that are placed in your path! In 2017, the time had come - our sanctuary was born! The "Happy Burg" with green areas where animals like donkeys, chickens, sheep and horses are rescued from abuse / slaughter and allowed to live a species-appropriate life. Dogs and cats that can no longer be rehomed also find a home here!

We give a temporary home to dogs + cats that are found abandoned/injured/threatened, mistreated or have lost their home, until they find their foster home or family. We take in unwanted puppies and help them find a happy family.

We also work with the Animal Welfare Police and cooperate with the local animal shelter!

Spay and neuter campaigns are essential! They reduce or even prevent suffering! We carry them out all year round out of conviction and help the community to carry out neutering of dogs and cats together with veterinary clinics! In 2024, 1488 castrations were carried out!

Every day, sometimes even at night, we try to take care of the animals. And we realise that the animals depend on us and our care, as well as on your help! German organisations help us to take care of the animals, we receive donations in goods and money. We also need you! As guardians, foster families, donors, sponsors and physical helpers!

I always try to keep a piece of goodness for myself and my family, I believe that everything happens for a reason! I don't lose my sense of humour in life and I do everything from the heart because I love what I do! ! And I am grateful for any support! Yours Andra with her team Happy Tails Brasov ❤️! 🐾
