About the shelter

The Sky Foundation, based in Iasi, Romania, has been fighting on many fronts for over 20 years. Sky Shelter is permanently home to around 400 animals, dogs, cats, horses and donkeys. Besides these, the Foundation also offers help (food, treatments, spaying and neutering operations) to animals still living on the streets, in the woods around the city, on the way to the shelter or even in people's yards, most of the time.

As well as feeding, vaccinating, deworming, sterilizing, rescuing and sheltering all these souls who have no rights in the eyes of the law, Mariana has to contend with the indifference and even cruelty of the law, which is not at all on her side. So, in addition to receiving no state subsidy to help maintain the shelter, and having no regular adoption or assistance contracts, she has to cover all veterinary expenses on her own and her husband's wages. Today, with so many rescues being carried out in such a short space of time, Mariana is overwhelmed: too many veterinary expenses are jeopardizing the future of the refuge. We're counting on your solidarity to help us get back on track!
