We are a charitable organization - foundation «Home of Rescued Animals», also known as the «Domivka Shelter» located in Lviv, Ukraine. We started with one horse and a big dream – to save wild animals in our country from human violence. We do a massive job of saving wild animals from different regions of Ukraine and creating conditions for them in which they can live peacefully and feel safe, loved, and cared for. Our main specialisation is saving wild and some livestock animals. Firstly – from hunters, poachers, fur factories; secondly – from slaughterhouses and leather factories. Also, we’ve saved some animals from circuses and people who profit from the abuse of animals. Some of the animals will never be able to return to the wild again – due to the cruel acts committed against them, but we try to create a caring and safe home for them. Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine we have also been taking care of dogs, cats, rabbits, and other pets that have lost their homes as a result of the ongoing tragedy. Many of the animals we take come from the hot spots of the war – like Kherson, Kharkiv, Irpin, Bucha, etc., and often arrive with emotional and physical traumas. Some show real fear of loud noises and others have lost limbs.. but all of those we find have lost the most valuable thing – their loving family. In addition, knowing that there are some animal shelters in need of help in the east of Ukraine (Bucha, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and others) we have been able to help them by making deliveries with some necessary supplies. The work is not easy but our amazing dedicated workers doing their very best to provide good veterinary care and then hopefully find great families to take on the care of the animals.
