About the shelter

The private animal shelter "Best Friends" was founded in 2014 on the basis of the public organisation "Zoo Centre Kovcheg" by Onoprienko Galina Fyodorovna and built at her own expense. Galina Fedorovna is the owner of the shelter and its director. At the moment about 1000 animals live in the shelter: dogs, cats, horses, goats, wolves, raccoon dogs. Their number is gradually increasing. Unfortunately, the shelter was not designed for such a huge number of animals and therefore today is in a difficult situation. It needs material and financial assistance, as it survives only thanks to charitable donations and help provided by people who care.
