Kočičí domov Sissi, z.s. is a registered non-profit association based in Křoví, Czech Republic, officially established in 2022 and entered into the public register of associations by the Regional Court in Brno. The organization was founded to provide help to abandoned and stray cats, and, when needed, other animals. The association is led by Gabriela Basnarova, who serves as its statutory representative. The sanctuary currently provides care for approximately 100 cats at any given time. Many of the animals arrive in poor health, after abandonment or difficult living conditions. Each cat undergoes quarantine, veterinary examination, vaccination, testing for infectious diseases, sterilization or castration, and socialization before being considered for adoption. The organization actively searches for responsible permanent homes and also works with temporary foster caregivers. Kočičí domov Sissi operates primarily through private donations and public fundraising. A legally registered public collection is conducted in accordance with Czech legislation, and the facility holds an official veterinary approval number (CZ 61C03249), allowing it to operate in compliance with national and EU animal welfare regulations. The sanctuary’s activities and ongoing cases are regularly documented through its website and social media, enabling supporters to follow its daily work. In addition to direct care and adoption efforts, the organization participates in preventive work such as sterilization support and assistance to cats in need within the wider community. Through structured veterinary care, transparent fundraising mechanisms, and continuous public communication, Kočičí domov Sissi maintains an operational model focused on rehabilitation and responsible placement of rescued animals.
