About the shelter

Život bez krutosti na statku – Útočiště pro zvířata is an independent animal sanctuary located in Třebihošť, Czech Republic. The project is operated by the non-profit association Život bez krutosti z.s., founded in 2016 after two years of building a community initiative focused on protecting animals from cruelty. The sanctuary functions as a registered non-governmental organization and is not a municipal shelter.
The sanctuary provides permanent refuge primarily for farm and formerly exploited animals, including pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits and other rescued species. Many of the animals were saved from neglect, unsafe conditions or slaughter. At any given time, more than 150 animals live on the farm, where they receive lifelong care, veterinary treatment and a safe environment tailored to their needs.
Život bez krutosti operates entirely through private donations, fundraising campaigns and public support. The organization does not receive regular state or municipal funding for daily operations. Supporters can contribute through direct donations and recurring contributions, which help cover feed, veterinary expenses and infrastructure development.
Beyond providing refuge, the sanctuary is actively involved in educational outreach. The team organizes guided visits, public events and school programs to raise awareness about animal welfare and ethical treatment of animals. The project has been featured in regional media and maintains active communication through social media, allowing supporters to follow daily life at the sanctuary.
The organization is led by Hana Klvanová and a dedicated volunteer team committed to creating a safe, cruelty-free space for animals who have experienced harm. Život bez krutosti na statku continues to expand its facilities in order to provide refuge to even more animals in need.
