About the shelter

cated in the village of Korabiewice, between Warsaw and Łódź, Korabiewice Animal Shelter is a nonprofit sanctuary operated by Fundacja Viva! since 2012.
It provides a safe home for more than 300 animals, including dogs, cats, horses, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, and foxes rescued from fur farms.
The shelter’s mission is to protect and rehabilitate animals that have suffered neglect or cruelty. Every rescued animal receives proper veterinary care, high-quality food, and emotional support. Working with veterinarians and volunteers, the shelter ensures the best possible living conditions and a second chance at life for all its residents.
As a private, non-governmental organization, Korabiewice Shelter relies entirely on individual and corporate donations. Monthly costs exceed 200,000 PLN, covering food, treatment, and maintenance. Supporters can help through bank transfers, PayPal donations, or by allocating 1.5% of their income tax to the shelter.
The organization also runs education and volunteer programs that promote kindness and responsible pet ownership. Visitors — from school groups to corporate teams — can learn about animal care and participate in daily activities such as dog walking, socialization, or cleaning. The shelter also collaborates with rehabilitation centers and youth groups, helping people build empathy through interaction with animals.
Through dedication, transparency, and compassion, Korabiewice Animal Shelter continues to grow as one of Poland’s leading examples of ethical animal care — a place where every life matters, and every animal can finally feel safe.
