About the shelter

“Lyovka & Friends” is a small, private animal shelter in Moldova, created by two kind-hearted people, Vera and Ivan. They turned their own home into a safe space for around 70 stray dogs, many of whom were abandoned, sick, or injured.

The shelter receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations from kind people who follow their work.
Through their TikTok and Facebook pages, Vera and Ivan have built a community of supporters who help them feed and care for the animals.

But running a shelter is hard work, and the need for help is constant. Vera and Ivan do everything themselves — feeding, treating, and rescuing animals in need. Their social media regularly shows the reality of this daily effort and the dedication it takes to care for so many lives.
“Lyovka & Friends” shows how even a small shelter can make a big difference. With love, resilience, and public support, they continue giving homeless animals a second chance at life.
