About the shelter

Rex Shelter is a private animal shelter founded by Roman, an Armenian who returned from Ukraine. Located near Yerevan, the shelter is home to around 60 dogs and 20 cats, many of whom have been rescued from the streets after suffering from illness, injuries, or abandonment. Rex Shelter operates through donations from compassionate people and also offers paid temporary boarding services for pets.
Animals at Rex Shelter live in spacious open enclosures, where they can roam freely and interact with each other. Special areas and warm shelters are provided for those undergoing rehabilitation or requiring special care. Every dog and cat receives veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment, after which they are placed for adoption. The shelter actively collaborates with volunteers and animal welfare advocates, helping animals find new families both in Armenia and abroad. Each rescued pet carries a story of struggle, hope, and love.
Rex Shelter relies entirely on donations. Any form of support—whether financial aid, food, medicine, or simply sharing information on social media—helps the shelter continue saving lives. "I can’t do anything else anymore—I am here 24 hours a day because these animals need me." – Roman, founder of Rex Shelter.
