About the shelter

Welcome to Terra Vita, a temporary shelter for stray animals in Samarkand, where cats and dogs in distress find warmth, care, and a chance for a new life. Since 2017, our dedicated team has been working tirelessly to ensure that every animal receives proper care and an opportunity to find a loving home. The shelter operates solely on donations from compassionate individuals and relies on the help of volunteers who provide daily support to our furry residents. Currently, around 120 cats and dogs live at the shelter, receiving not only food and shelter but also affection, attention, and kindness.
We believe that every animal deserves love, and we do everything possible to help them find caring families. All of our pets are vaccinated and ready for adoption, as their time in the shelter is only a step toward their future home.
The shelter is in urgent need of support. You can make a difference by offering these animals a piece of your kindness and care—your involvement can change their fate.
"Our shelter is warm, cozy, and welcoming—here, every animal finds not only refuge but also support on their journey to a new family."
— Marina Sviridova, Founder of the Shelter
